Description

Modern processes in industrial AI and machine vision are closely linked to image processing. This requires industrial PC systems whose CPU and GPU performance is high enough to process the tasks in real time.

The high-end GPU computing system Spectra PowerBox 5000 opens the gates to a whole new dimension in image processing. It consists of a basic system that can be expanded with up to two modular GPU expansion boxes. With the help of this modular structure, the system can be scaled to suit individual requirements.

The excellent computing power of the basic system is based on 9th generation Intel® Xeon® or Core™ i3/i5/i7 (Coffee Lake-R) CPUs and an Intel® C246 chipset as well as two DDR4-2666 ECC/non-ECC SO-DIMM bis to 64GB. The compact PC also has four 2.5″ hot-swap SATA SSDs and has an M.2 M-Key socket for NVMe SSD storage. Additional I/Os or other functionalities such as 8x GbE LAN/PoE, 6x USB 3.2 and 2x 10 GbE LAN can be implemented using expansion cards.

The GPU expansion boxes, which are simply plugged onto the basic system, offer space for two 250 W graphics cards with a length of 328 mm or other PCIe expansion cards with a maximum expansion. The total power consumption is a maximum of 720 W. Of course, these high performance requirements also require a corresponding cooling concept. The effective heat dissipation is achieved by the special case structure and the use of isolated external smart fan kits on both sides of the case.
The industrial usability of the high-end GPU computer is additionally supported by the mechanical design of the compact PC, which ensures high shock and vibration resistance, and by the wide current input range from 9 to 48 V.
