The electrolytes for the production of polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors consist of a solid, conductive polymer that geometrically adapts to the surface structure of the metal anode, as well as a liquid electrolyte that impregnates a paper separator. This structure combines the advantages of two technologies, the usual aluminum electrolytic capacitors and the polymer electrolytic capacitors. In addition to the low ESR values ​​over the entire temperature range, such a design is also characterized by low residual currents and insensitivity to overvoltage peaks. By using appropriate organic electrolytes and good sealing, a long service life without premature drying out can also be achieved.
