Data Scientist

The ei3 Data Science Division, located in Zurich, Switzerland, develops data science, machine learning and AI solutions to improve efficiency and reliability of industrial processes and machines. Our solutions are in broad use with clients in more than 100 countries, covering manufacturing processes and lines in the plastics, electronics, and converting industry. From our office near Stauffacher square in Zurich, the ei3 data science team works closely with clients all around the world and our corporate ei3 colleagues in New York and Montreal. We are currently looking to fill open positions to support a number of new projects. The positions offered include roles as Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and UI Designers.

You will join our international team of Data Scientists to develop and implement data science algorithms for machine data. Your responsibilities may include:
– Creating self-diagnostic capabilities for industrial machines to detect wear and tear, impending mechanical issues, and incorrect machine settings.
– Assisting operators in resolving issues related to machine settings, quality control, and excessive energy consumption.
– Developing natural language models to capture, process, and analyze product and operator knowledge.

You will collaborate closely with our clients to review their data and gain a thorough understanding of their machines and industrial processes.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with a high-profile, international team of data scientists. Our Zurich office promotes a highly collaborative environment, with opportunities to engage directly with clients.

We seek candidates with up-to-date skills in data science, data analytics, and machine learning, as well as a strong interest in machine engineering and semantic AI. Positions are available for both junior and senior applicants. Of benefit will be existing skills in
– Data science-centric languages and environments such as Python, Jupyter, Tensor Flow, or Matlab
– Knowledge of generative AI, LLM

Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Information Science from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience is required.
